My Friendly Team

To enhance the services I can offer, I would like to introduce my
    Dog Walkers,
Paige & Nicole.

My name is Paige and I've been working for Karen for a couple years now. I love everything about my job. Being in the sunshine, getting exercise and of course being with the dogs! Most of the time it doesn't feel like a job.

Before working for Karen I worked at a doggie day care. Since I was little, animals have been my passion and I hope to always have a job that involves helping people and their beloved pets! Animal lovers like us know that our pets are family. I pride myself in treating our client's furry friends as if they were their children. I also think of them as my own!

With me, you will always know that I have your pet's best interest in mind at all times. Not only because that's my job but because I love each and every animal I meet!

Hello,  my name is Nicole. My passion for  dogs started long ago.

My whole life I was raised with at least one dog, sometimes two.  I am currently the mom to an adorable little girl named, Molly Sue.  I rescued Molly Sue at 6 weeks old and she is now 11.

Working daily for Karen For the Dogs is such a joy.  Playing, walking and getting to know all the different fur babies is so much fun.  Their unique personalities and unconditional love is something I look forward to every time I  see them.
Whether it's a walk or staying overnight  with them, the smiles and joy they share are priceless.

Hello, my name is Karen, owner of Karen For The Dogs. I lost Bailey, my 9 year old Golden Retriever in June of '06 to liver cancer.  He was an amazing dog that traveled everywhere with me, even to work.  He loved playing in the snow, the sound of children’s laughter, playing with tennis balls and swimming at the local park.

Not having the heart to bring another dog home and with my two daughters starting their own lives and families, I was a true empty nester.  I love my cat Cotton and my cockatiel Popeye, but it was not the same as my best friend Bailey greeting me at the door.

When my friends starting traveling and taking vacations, I jumped at the chance to bring home their dogs and once again, I enjoyed the love and laughter only a dog can give.  A friend of mine had suggested I do this as a business upon retuning for her dog, after a long weekend away.  What a great idea!   I continued to work full time and pet sit part time, however, a year later I was given a wonderful opportunity to pursue my passion of pet care full time.

Let me love your dog as I did my own.  I watch various breeds and personalities of pooches in my home.

Description of Services

Overnight in my Home Dog Sitting

I now know there is a true need for my services. I never boarded Bailey and I realized other dog owners were looking for an alternative to kenneling. I also know Bailey was special and part of my family, just as your dog is to you and your family. No one wants to put their beloved friend in a cold concrete kennel. Even the best of kennels, your dog is left alone at night and on the weekends, only a skeleton crew to feed your dog and clean out the cages. This can be very stressful on your dog.  With Karen for The Dogs, owners go away with a peace of mind knowing their dog becomes part of my family and is loved and spoiled.

Doggy Day Care

Doggie day care has become increasingly popular. Owners work long hours and need an outlet for their furry kids. Puppies learn important socialization skills while larger dogs burn off that enormous pent-up energy. This reduces separation anxiety and eliminates destructive behavior that results from boredom and lack of attention. A large fully secure back yard where dogs can romp and play or indoors where your dog can play quietly or nap on the couch with a “just like home”  feeling. Dogs are supervised closely, good behavior and manners are encouraged with positive reinforcement. Doggie day care is offered Monday, Tuesday & Thursday.

Dog Walking/Potty Breaks

My service also includes dog walking and potty breaks. This is a great benefit for the active dogs, puppies or senior dog who’s owners have deadlines and work late, owners that can not get home at lunch time to let their dog out or just want me to play with them and tire them out. Owners come home to a happy dog.

Cat Care/Small Caged Critters

I will come to your home to care for your kitty, litter box change and cage maintenance for small caged critters. I grew up owning gerbils, guinea pigs, hamsters and I even rescued a baby squirrel, Cashew, which fell out of his nest.

           Benefits to You
Why choose Karen for the Dogs? There are pet sitting services that stay overnight in your home. Most people are uncomfortable with the idea of having a stranger stay in their home while they are away. With Karen for the Dogs, you bring your dog for overnight dog sitting in my home. Whether you plan a weekend getaway or a long needed vacation, I provide a loving environment with playtime in my large fenced in yard or indoor patio for inclement weather with lots of attention. I also provide walks and trips to the dog park. It is my philosophy to treat your dog as you would. I follow the same schedule you have in your home. When the lights go out at night, I am there to comfort them if they are scared. If your dog sleeps with you, they will sleep with me. I am right there beside them if your dog loves to cuddle on the couch.

Many of my furry friends come to me from referrals which tells me my clients can see the love and passion I have for their pets. I not only love your pet, but they love me back.

What a great job I have! I wake up with sloppy face licks, unconditional love and knowing I will be playing at the park with your dog or sitting with your kitty purring in my lap. Each day is a new adventure where I interact with owners and their pets. I am professional as well as insured and bonded. I recently completed the American Red Cross Pet CPR/First Aid Class. I continue to educate myself and strive to be the person your dog thinks I am.

I look forward to meeting you and your pets!
